Sorry for the wait, but ShimaneJET.com is back and (hopefully) better than ever!
The site's functionality should be the same as before, but as the site's backend has completely changed, there may be a few lingering software glitches. Post all issues in the forums or send the admin an email and it will get looked into promptly.
Thousands of spam accounts were purged- and the login system still needs to be cleaned out a bit, but most users should be fine. If you have trouble logging in from the homepage, try going to the forums and logging in there. If that doesn't work, you know the drill. Enjoy! |

Hello all, Within the next few days there will be some changes to the ShimaneJET website, so at times the website may lose the ability to perform certain tasks The biggest visible change will be the reversion to the original theme. I haven't been able to find any rendering problems in IE or Firefox, but if when it changes things break on your computer, post to the forums and it will be fixed. Also, the links on the top of the page will change slightly, and there will be a wiki section added. The software this site is built on is neither intuitive nor community oriented, so a lot of things will be moved to the wiki section. Please take the time to explore the wiki, and more importantly, help contribute content! We have tried to provide information from which to start with, but what will make it great is having many people's tips and experiences accessible to all. Think of it as a Shimane Living Guide written for us, by us. -James EDIT: The wiki is up, but it needs a logo! Submissions welcome! |

Welcome new 2008 JETs to Shimane Prefecture, one of Japan's most rural prefectures. Our quiet, lovely prefecture is just full to the brim with nature, culture, traditions, mythology, and very kind people. Please use this site to introduce yourself, find deals from outgoing JETs, and become part of one of the best JET communities in Japan! =D Current JETs--please remember what an exciting and anxious time this was for you and help these JETs out with their questions and concerns =) Other news: - The Black Taxi is looking for editors for next year! If you have what you think it takes, find a co-editor and write up a short application on why you should be editor.
- The website is still looking for a permanent web master for 2008-2009
- Please check out the Shimane AJET site for upcoming events and information on how you can be involved in the 2008-2009 year.
